The Stochastic Computing Group explores computing with probabilistic bit streams rather than deterministic binary values. This paradigm offers advantages in hardware simplicity, fault tolerance, and energy efficiency. The project investigates applications in neural networks, signal processing, and other domains where approximate computing is acceptable.
