cognitiveHackathon: Unconventional Computing at FAU
The MPCR Lab hosted Ekkolapto’s cognitiveHackathon at FAU — a weekend event bringing together students, researchers, and entrepreneurs to build demos and develop theories in unconventional computing.
Topics spanned reversible computing, DNA and bio-inspired algorithms, reservoir computing, photonics, spintronics, molecular computing, and more. Participants competed for cash prizes ($500 first place, $250 second, $125 third) with winners eligible for the championship in Cambridge, MA.
The three-day event included a Friday kickoff, Saturday build day, and Sunday demos and presentations, with projects shared across social media and arXiv.
