MindFest 2025: Exploring the Future of Human-AI Interaction

FAU’s Center for the Future of AI, Mind and Society hosted MindFest 2025, bringing together international experts to examine consciousness, artificial intelligence, and the rise of LLM-based agents. The conference, led by Prof. Susan Schneider, partnered with the PBS series Closer to Truth to record interviews with keynote speakers.

Speakers included Tam Hunt and Jonathan Schooler (UC Santa Barbara), Zoltan Istvan (Transhumanist Party), Mark Bailey (National Intelligence University), Julia Mossbridge (Mossbridge Institute), Robin Hanson, and FAU’s Elan Barenholtz.

“The thought-provoking ideas raised were enriched by parallel paper sessions and student poster presentations, fostering academic exchange across disciplines and career stages,” Schneider said.

MindFest 2026 is scheduled for April 1-2 at FAU.
